Proving consent on the insurance leads you buy

Be ready to trace an enquiry from its source to the team that received it. LeadScale records source and consent audit information when its Engine creates a lead, with a history through processing and delivery.

Records created through the LeadScale Engine™ carry a source label, timestamp, lineage and consent audit trail. For an insurance lead programme, agree the evidence your reviewers need and the checks to run before delivery. The record's history supports investigation of an enquiry and assessment of its intended use.

Set the evidence requirement before buying

An insurer, broker or contact centre may need to explain why it received a person's details. Agree what each party needs to examine while the programme is being designed, so the capture and hand-over can be assessed together.

  1. Specify the evidence. Identify the source and consent information your reviewers require, alongside the contact fields.
  2. Confirm the capture route. Records created through the Engine have source, timestamp, lineage and consent audit information recorded at source. For imported records, inspect what the supplier provides.
  3. Agree the processing. Set the contact checks, programme filters, their order and the handling of a failed result.
  4. Trace delivery. Processing and delivery have an audit trail. Where supply is against an order, delivery is reconciled against that order.

Follow one record through the hand-over

Suppose a broker asks why a particular enquiry arrived. Start with the record's source label and lineage, then establish when it was captured and what consent information was recorded with it. Follow the processing and delivery history to the receiving team.

Your reviewers assess the proposed use against that evidence, including any onward hand-over from the original recipient.

Before the programme starts, examine a representative record and agree the evidence format. If a source cannot supply part of the history, identify that gap before relying on its delivery.

Review the use and the capture evidence together

Agree the intended contact and any onward hand-over with your reviewers. Source and consent audit information support that assessment. Contact-data checks address the fields selected for processing.

The governance page explains how capture history and processing are recorded.

Questions from insurance marketing teams

How do we assess leads captured by another supplier?

Ask what the original source recorded and what it will supply with each lead. Compare that with your evidence requirement. Processing an imported record cannot be assumed to reconstruct missing capture history.

What should we check in a sample record?

The source, capture time, available consent audit information and route to the receiving team. Confirm the actual information and format supplied, including whether any form or wording evidence your reviewers require is available.

What happens after a failed check?

The programme's rules determine the response. Agree that handling alongside the checks; lead validation explains the available processing.

What must your reviewers be able to trace?

Bring the evidence you require and the route from supplier to contact centre or broker. We'll work through the capture, checks and delivery your programme needs.
